A Bit of History

In 2013 Arc Herkimer embarked on a capital campaign to raise $1,000,000 to build an accessible recreation park for people of all abilities.  The final cost of the park increased to $1,500,000 and with the assistance of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation; The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Inc.; State Senator James Seward, R-Milford; The Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation; The Christopher Reeve Foundation; many businesses and private donors; and donations from Arc Herkimer staff, the Park became a reality in June of 2017.

Arc Herkimer continues to raise money for the park for ongoing maintenance of the facility and for special projects. Ask about sponsoring a paver!
